Putting Together A Bamboo Fountain
Having a bamboo fountain can add a certain magical appeal to your home garden. Bamboo fountains, the original creation of the Japanese, were made specifically as a way to keep deer away from rice paddies. It isn't surprising that they were called "deer chasers".
Monks made a new use for the bamboo fountain; this time as a way to time their mediations. In a time when more people are concerned about their impact on the environment, the bamboo fountain is an ecologically friendly material option. The bamboo fountain is also popular because of its charm and colloquial appeal. The bamboo fountain is a flexible model so they can be used both indoors and outdoors.
If you want to make a bamboo fountain, all you need are few simple components. These pieces include bamboo, pipe or tubing, a base, a water pump, rod, screws, and a container. When the bamboo fountain is for outdoor use, you might consider the quality of the bamboo since lower quality bamboo may crack under certain weather conditions. People who opt to use the bamboo fountain indoors often enhance the strength and appearance of the bamboo by applying polish. Before you start constructing your bamboo fountain, you should also have the right tools including a screwdriver, a drill, and a wood saw.
The first step after you have all the parts for your bamboo fountain is to cut the bamboo sticks to required lengths. Three large bamboo sticks are necessary for construction. A stick will hold the nozzle while two other will hold the moving piece on the bamboo fountain. The moving part of the bamboo fountain will collect and remove water once the water collected increases to certain level. All three bamboo pieces will need to have holes drilled through the centers. You need holes in your bamboo sticks pieces because a rod will be inserted in them to make the fountain operate with pivot action.
For the second [phase] of construction, you will take a pipe and connect it from the pump up through the bamboo. The top of the pipe is fitted with a bamboo nozzle. Now that this is all done, you can mount the fountain to a base. You know that the bamboo fountain is functioning when the water coming from the nozzle continues running to the moving part of the fountain.

Lastly, you may want to know how to maintain a bamboo fountain. Any maintenance will concentrate in two places. You will focus on the water pump care. You need to have the water pump below the surface of your retaining pool when running. Don't forget to clean the pump regularly. The second aspect of bamboo fountain care is scheduled water replacement. If your bamboo fountain is on all the time, you won't have to change it as often but it is still good to keep on a schedule to avoid smell, stagnant water.
How do I treat a boil that has already popped, but not completely?
After coming back from my doctor's appointment and being told that I had boil on my face, I was prescribed a topical solution called clindamayacin phosphate which smells and feels a lot like alcohol. I've had this boil forming for over a week or two and it was just recently that it recently started irritating me. I know not to pick at it, but it felt like it was making my cheek itchy. I remember twitching my nose then all of a sudden, I felt this warm tingly feeling down my face. Looked in the mirror and saw white puss with a mix of blood running down my face!! Immediately washed my hands and took a q-tip and dabbed the juice out. Waited to see if more would come out since the bump was still plump so I ended up washing my face and just applying my prescribtion. A little more puss came out in the morning so I took a needle and sterlized it and poked the leaking hole hoping to get more out, but not much luck... How do I treat this boil and help the bump go down completely?
Hold a warm washcloth over the boil for 10 minutes at a time, 4 times a day. That will help the pus to localize and come to a head. Continue to use the medication he gave you. Do not use a needle to poke around, as you can force the infection into other areas around the boil. Give it another few days. If it still looks and feels bad on Monday, give your doc a call and tell him the treatment isn't working well. You may need oral antibiotics at that point.
