Is it just the battery in my Jeep, or...??
It is a 2003 Jeep Wrangler (stick -of course!) Last time I took it to service in November they recommended a battery replacement, but I figured it could wait until next one.
2 days ago as I tried to start it, and having had no previous warning of something going wrong, this time it just wouldn't go. No starting noises, nothing. The displays and the lights do turn on when I insert & turn the key / open the door, but up in the hood, everything is dead. Ah, and when I insert the key the various meters' needles start dancing around...
So, is it just that the recommendation became an imperative and I need to change that battery, or is it something worse that needs professional attention (and towing...)??

i own a repair shop and id try seeing if it started good with a jump start,and let it run for a few minutes and see if it built up any at all,if it don't then you need a new battery ,chances are it needs it anyway ,they probably noticed a date on it or seen that it was getting low, is the reason they recommended you needed one,id just change it,that should straiten it out,if it goes dead again you know its something else on it going bad,but they usually wont recommend you need a new battery unless they notice signs of it going bad,good luck i hope this help,s.
