An Overview on Spain’s Music History and the Famous Flamenco

Also, Flamenco was mostly danced by the common people or the lower levels of society, and upper class society did not have much curiosity on it; the historians that time did not see the significance in recording such music. Another cause is that during the Spanish Inquisition in 1492, Jews, Muslims, and the Gitanos were treated brutally; and because they were poor they did not acquire formal education and did not know how to write, so they preserved the music through oral traditions.
Until today, much of the history of the Flamenco is still kept hidden. In fact, it did not just succeed throughout the generation but it became known and really grown into a widely studied music and dance style until today.
